Favorite Blush

This week I am celebrating 6 months of Doves and Roses. On Sunday I will announce the winner of the giveaway (you can enter here if you haven’t already), but I will use the rest of the week to discuss my favorite beauty products. I have chosen six topics I love: lipstick, nail polish, foundation, tools, and eye products. We will start today with my favorite blushes.

favorite blush text

I am very much a blush girl: that little pop of color just lifts my face and makes me look alive. I have attempted bronzer, but it just doesn’t seem to be working so far. These five are my favorite products and I tend to use whichever matches the rest of my make-up and outfit best.

Dior Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush in 001 Petal

One of my favorite blushes for spring. Don’t look at the bright pink in the pan but swatch this on your skin, as this blush changes color depending on the Ph of your skin. On me, it turns a lovely pink that looks natural and bright. The packaging is pretty but a little bulky, but it lasts well so no need to run around with this in your handbag. You can find more of my enthusiastic ravings on this blush here.

Zoeva Luxe Color Blush in Gentle Touch

This lovely light pink is a perfect blush for working days: understated yet pretty. The compact packaging and great mirror make this perfect for travel and Gentle Touch will match pretty much any make-up. This blush has combines high-end quality with a budget price and you should also have a look at the amazing Zoeva brushes while you are browsing. More on this blush can be found in my full review.

H&M Blusher in Dazzling Peach (12)

I love H&M for clothes and accessories, but I don’t think they make particularly good make-up. The only exception? This blush, which I absolutely adore. A lovely peachy color that looks great and lasts well despite the budget price. Read more about it here.

Sleek Face Form Palette in Light (373)

The blush in my Sleek Face Form palette is also available as the separate Rose Gold blush. It is a perfect dupe for the famous Nars Orgasm blush at a great prize. I love this pink and gold combination, amazing for a special event or if you just need a little pick-me-up. Read more about the entire palette in this post.

Bourjois Cream Blush in Healthy Glow (02)

This is the only cream blush in my selection, which requires a slightly different application technique. You can pat it in with your fingers. though I like using the Real Techniques Contour Brush as well. Super compact, this is the blush I pick for short city trips or holidays. It gives a very natural result, truly a healthy glow.

These are my favorite blushes, what are yours?

Deze week bestaat Doves and Roses alweer zes maanden.

Dior Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush in 001 Petal

Zoeva Luxe Color Blush in Gentle Touch

H&M Blusher in Dazzling Peach (12)

Sleek Face Form Palette in Light (373)

favorite blush (2)Bourjois Cream Blush in Healthy Glow (02)

It is almost a perfect match for Orgasm and so much cheaper! Don’t know if you can get Sleek in Romania, but def. a recommendation for whenever you are in the UK next 🙂

We actually CAN get Sleek here! Surprise surprise! LOL
Don’t know how, but it actually happened to be able to order some of the products from an actual Romanian website, which implies less trouble with the shipping and the fees, etc.
No need to get this one as I kind of got Orgasm! 🙈🙊😅
But it would be amazing to do a comparison post between the two! 😌👌
        Lots of xx

I’m so much more a bronzer girl cause of my olive-skin, but I wish I could wear blush more often. Just looking at this colors make me so happy–especially Dior 001 Petal. I think I need a better blush brush!

This is a super helpful post- I’m on the hunt for a perfect blush. I avoided it for many years but recently I’ve come around to the idea of it. I’d love for you to share a post at my link up tomorrow, if you’re interested! There’s an explanation of what it is on my main menu under ‘Tell ’em Tuesdays’

Happy six months!! Good to know there’s a dupe for Orgasm out there…though I haven’t heard of that brand, I wonder if it’s available in the US? I will have to investigate!

It is a really good dupe as well. Sleek is an English brand, though they are now available in continental europe as well. Not sure about the States though…

Great post, I don’t think I could cope without a pop of blusher either! I have tried Dior Rosy Glow and I really liked the formula, it gives you a perky glow without being too OTT. Personally Bobbi Brown blush is my favourite, both the gel and pressed powder are great for me (both on my blog.) I hope you’re having a good morning, Zoe xx

Dior Rosy Glow is definitely a firm favorite 🙂 Haven’t tried Bobbi Brown yet, but I will make sure to swatch some when I am at a counter next 😀
Have a great day Zoe! ♥ Anne

The BB gel blusters are a strange consistency compared to Cream blush, but once you get over that it’s awesome. I love the coral powder blush I got from BB recently too. Thanks you too xx

Lovely colours all of them! ! Obsessed with blushers too.. cant choose a favourite 😦 but if I had to choose one of my favorite brands for blushes it would have to be Nars (…amongst others!)

Thanks 🙂 I know that feeling, they are all so different and you need loads of options, right?! Haven’t tried an actual Nars blush just yet… hopefully soon 🙂

Yes, I agree with loads of options for blush…and lipsticks! 🙂 The Nars ones are a bit pricey but super pigmented and beautiful shades. I love ‘Madly’, ‘Douceur’ and ‘Sin’ but there are other great ones too!

Oh yes, I will cover lipstick soon 😉
Oh great, I must definitely try those next time I am at a counter, I really do need to try blush out on my own skin since it can be so misleading in the pan!

Thanks for the swatches. They are so helpful. In my head, I’m always overestimating how pale I am, so blushes always look too dark in the pan to me

I have the exact same thing! I will look at the pan and go: nope, that will make me look like a clown. But then it looks lovely once applied :S

Lovely post Anne! I have the Sleek Face Form Contour Kit in Light too and I love the Rose Gold blush in it. I’m loving the 3CE Blush in Love Filter at the moment too, they’re a Korean brand 🙂 I’ve heard that Zoeva has good affordable blushes and I’m thinking of trying out Shy Beauty but I’m not sure if it’ll be too light on my skin ><

Rose Gold is just so pretty! Haven’t heard of that brand before, but thanks for the recommendation!
Shy beauty is a lovely shade, I think it will work for you as these are quite pigmented and you can really build the color.

Yep it’s a Korean brand and it’s only just starting to have a presence in the other Asian countries 🙂 Ooh that’s great, I might give Shy Beauty a go 😀

Hmm will be impossible to get here in Europe then. We are so behind on the Asian market, too bad as it is often very innovative 🙂

Haha it is but the downside is there are soooo many similar products on the market under different brands and packaging, it makes you want to buy more! I know I always end up with dupes because of their very successful marketing efforts -_-
