Ready for a controversial statement? I dislike Chanel No 5. I know this their signature fragrance, everyone else seems to love it, and I am normally quite the Chanel addict: but despite all of that I just cannot get myself to like it. So when I received a sample of the Chanel No 5 Eau Premiere, I figured I would try it once and than hand it off to a friend…but I surprised myself by loving it.
I am horrible at describing perfumes, which is why you will not see them featured often on this blog (that and the fact I am very very picky when it comes to scents). The main notes are still the same as the original No 5: rose, jasmine, neroli and ylang-ylang. I cannot pick them out individually, but it is just a lovely floral scent. A little hint of citrus makes this lighter and easier to wear then the original.
I find the Chanel No 5 Eau Premiere just so much fresher and lighter than the original No 5 and for some reason this allows the floral notes to come to the foreground more. Make no mistake, this perfume has not lost its adult edge: this is not some super sweet girly fragrance. I can just imagine a sophisticated lady like Coco Chanel herself wearing this scent. Have you tried this yet or are you a fan of the original No 5?
