The new H&M Beauty Department

H&M happens to be one of my favorite stores for basics and accessories, but their recently launched Beauty Department means I will now have to visit regularly for makeup and polish as well. The entire H&M beauty range has been updated and repackaged and the result is absolutely fabulous.

The collections contains makeup, body and hair care products as well as beauty accessories. I picked up a bunch of different goodies (almost all makeup) as I simply couldn’t resist the amazing color range and breathtaking packaging. I will show you what I have bought in this post as an introduction to the range, you can expect full reviews including swatches to pop up on the blog soon.

Let’s start with the only non-makeup item I managed to sneak in my bag: the Get a Grip Dry Hairspray. I decided on the travel size, which contains 50 ml and costs €3.99. It promises maximum hold, shine and volume…challenge accepted.

These simply look so much more expensive than €7.99 each. The Pure Radiance Powder Blusher in the black compact is the color apricot: a delicate peach. After a lot of debate I went with Dusty Rose for the Pure Velvet Cream Blusher in the white hexagon. Very difficult since there were a lot of pretty blush shades to choose from.

I simply had to try a lippy as well and picked the Lip Colour- To-Go in Bonne Vivante for €5.99. I really wanted to pick up an amazing moss green eye shadow I had seen online, but this was unfortunately out of stock so I went for the safer bronze Shitake in stead (surprise there, another neutral brown eye shadow) for €5.99. I also purchased my first ever gel eyeliner: the Drama Cream Eyeliner in Pitch Black which set me back €7.99.

Finally the nail polish beckoned and there are some absolutely amazing shades in the collection for €4.99 a bottle. I ended up choosing purple Byzantium and blue Faded Myrtle. Let’s see how these last on my nails.

Overall, quite a varied bunch of products at decent prices that I cannot wait to try out. I love budget beauty, but usually find the packaging is a little disappointing in comparison to the higher end brands. This collection truly looks the part, but let’s see if the quality matches.

Get a Grip Dry Hairspray.

I honestly want EVERYTHING. I haven’t tempted myself by going to the H&M beauty department yet. I know that I’ll be lured by the beautiful products at such fair prices! I must force myself to wait until January. My top items to purchase are the blushes and nail polishes!

I know: I knew the minute I wandered in I was lost. Love the blushes and the polish is decent (though not as long lasting as essie, but I will review that tomorrow)

I’ve always been a bit dubious about make up from clothing stores but I’ll see what you think before I buy any!

They all look gorgeous but I am skeptical about buying them. Had a bad experience with forever 21 cosmetics products!

Budget beauty can be a bit hit or miss, but I’ve had some great H&M products before..we’ll see, I have just started testing.

The hexagon just reminds me of Tom Ford’s packaging for some reason. These are plastic and you feel the difference once you pick them up, but they look gorgeous.
