Summer to Autumn: Polish Swaps

Now that autumn is here to stay, it is time to swap those lovely pastel polishes for more fall appropriate shades. To help you out with this transition, I though I would show you four summer and fall options side by side.

Summer to Autumn Polish Swaps Essie, Rimmel

I have been rocking the lovely coral pink Rose Libertine all summer, but for me this doesn’t work quite as well in autumn. I tend to replace it with one of my favorite bright pink polish options: Essie’s Haute in the Heat. This hot pink is the perfect transition from summer coral to winter berry.

Go Ginza has been difficult to beat this season: one of my friends was wearing it and I immediately dragged her into the nearest drugstore so I could buy my own bottle. Although I would easily wear this with a monochrome outfit in winter, during the fall months I tend to go for the deeper purple of Rimmel’s Punk Rock.

Saltwater Happy is one of my most recent Essie purchases and a perfect baby blue. Still, with the colder weather I grab the edgier Essie’s Parka Perfect. This is the color I love the most in my entire collection: an amazing blue with grey undertones and tiny sparkles.Summer to Autumn Polish Swaps Essie, Rimmel

Finally, mint green is such a great color to wear when the sun is out and Essie’s Fashion Playground is a classic. During the darker months I tend to go for slightly different shades of green, including Essie’s Fall in Line.

It is strange how the seasonal change have a real impact on my color choices: I love autumnal shades in polish and makeup all year round and I am a big fan of the advice to simply wear whatever you feel like, but I definitely gravitate towards darker and grayer colors in autumn. Have you noticed a change in your polish habits?

Such a gorgeous contrast of colours Anne, I only wished I suited green more, it just doesn’t seem to suit my hands at all 😦 Love all those colours… great choices! I have to say I’m a huge fan of the Salon Pro Urban Purple this time of year – it is gorgeous. A very yummy raspberry/plum shade πŸ™‚ XXX

My all time favorite, have been trying to find a dupe for a while now but most colors are too blue (if that makes sense).

I love these suggestions! I’m definitely the same way, I gravitate towards darker colors in the fall. I like the idea of gray replacing light pink as a neutral shade for the season πŸ™‚

That is a perfect tran-seasonal nail shade. I really like the deep tomato red and I would love to try the dark green colour.
