Cheaper Skincare Alternatives: Turkish Rose Water

Toner isn’t a completely necessary step in your skincare routine, although I personally love the added freshness and it makes distributing a facial serum or oil a little easier. I love rose water but with my preference for organic ingredients such a bottle can cost quite a bit. During my move I ran out of toner and found a great cheaper alternative in the most unexpected of places…

turkish rosewater / turks rozenwater

my local Turkish deli! This pink bottle of Turkish rose water cost only a few quid and is much cheaper than my normal online purchases. The ingredients consist of rose extract and water, so happily no alcohol or other additives in sight. I personally dislike alcohol in toners, it only ever irritates my skin and doesn’t do any good.

It has been doing a fine job as a toner and has been a great reminder that skincare doesn’t have to cost a fortune.Β I am sure you will be able to find something similar at any middle eastern store.

mijn lokale Turkse supermarkt!

It’s definitely very true that good skin care need not cost a fortune. As my skin is very prone to breakouts I have always used the La Roche Posay range recommended to me by various GP’s and dermatologists. Very affordable and great simple products that do the job.

Their Effaclar cleanser is one I have used for about 15 yrs now lol. Just love it. So simple, effective and non irritating. All moisturisers are nice.. I like alternating between Nutritic & Effaclar K/H. Theor lipbalm is great too. Want to try their micro exfoliating lotion!

What a fantastic find! I think people use rose water for cooking as well?
I hear you about toners with alcohol – too harsh for me.
