And another Nivea Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover

I recently discussed my rather disappointing experience with the dual effect eye makeup remover by Nivea, which just didn’t seem to work for me. I decided to try this lotion with Chamomille extract to see if this version is a bit better for me.

Nivea Waterproof Eye Makeup remover lotionUnlike my usual oil based dual cleansers, this comes in the form of a white lotion. Simple apply to a cotton pad, carefully press to the eye, and remove the make-up gently. I have to say that despite being marketed for waterproof mascara, it just isn’t that great on its own and won’t remove all traces of make-up.

I still love this though in combination with an oil based remover or on it’s own in the mornings. It is great to use after an oily product to get rid of the last traces of make-up and that oily film on your eyes. I also occasionally grab it in the morning if any traces of make-up are still visible (read: I have been lazy the night before) or to simply refresh my eyes.

Not a winner on it’s own then, but still a decent product. I have had no sensitivity issues with the product, so good news there as well.

I love how you have written your post in English but also in Dutch. Great review, I have been seeing these around lately and I wasn’t sure wether to buy it or not. It really reminds me of the ‘reinigingsmelk’, which Nivea also makes. šŸ™‚

Thanks šŸ™‚ Are you Dutch as well?
It is a little like the reinigingsmelk but this is supposed to work better on waterproof makeup.

Yes I am! I like the reinigingsmelk but I use it more to get the last bits of makeup off as it usually doesn’t remove all of my makeup at once.

I used to use a cream based eye makeup remover – the main issue I had was that it had the tendency to get in my eyes! I would have blurry vision every night when removing my makeup. šŸ˜›

Oh the blurry vision always remains a problem. I find the most effective ones give me a little trouble with that. For me, oil based remover first and when that leaves a little blur sweep over it with your normal cleanser.

Thanks! Will try to check it out, but I am really behind on all tags and awards.
