A Treat for Winter Skin: Trilogy Aromatic Body Oil

Natural Trilogy Aromatic Body Oil

Confession time: I am horrible at taking care of my skin. Not my face mind you: my facial skincare routine is rather extensive and I follow it religiously. Taking care of the rest of the skin on my body seems to be another matter as I can never be bothered to apply body butters or lotions. As a result, my skin suffers in silence during the colder winter months. I think I may have found the solution though in the Trilogy Body Oil.

Trilogy is one of my favorite natural skincare brands, so I was quite curious to see how their body range would preform. The Aromatic Body Oil is a fast-absorbing blend of natural oils for deep hydration of the skin and is fragranced with bergamot, rose, and vanilla.

The glass packaging is sturdy and the dark glass prevents deterioration of the oils inside. A plastic cap ensures only a couple of drops escape at a time, so no nasty oil spills (hands up if you’ve ever slipped in a puddle of oil in the bathroom). A jar contains 100 ml and costs $33/£16.50/ €19,95.

The oil absorbs very fast without any tacky residue, leaving your skin feeling super soft and glowing. I like that this is fast, no waiting around for the oil to dry before you can get dressed. A big bonus for a lazy girl like myself.

The only slight down side to this is the smell. Based on the description I expected a lovely sweet floral scent, but it actually smells of old fashioned soap or dish washing liquid. Must be the bergamot, but I had really hoped for more of the rose and vanilla to come through.

Even though the smell is a little disappointing, the effect on my skin is absolutely great. This is a quick and easy solution against dry winter skin and to top it all off it is natural and cruelty free.

Natural Trilogy Aromatic Body Oil

Natural Trilogy Aromatic Body Oil

I already know that this Australian brand is a very much trust worthy product and their rosehip oil has been accepted and used by Kate Middleton from the royal family and hence, I hope the same attributes comes in this product too and as you said, the smell of vanilla would be much appreciated. Great post.

A fast drying oil sounds perfect for body care… pity about the smell. Have you tried Vaseline’s spray moisturisers? Its super fast to work with 🙂

This sounds lovely! I really need to try some things out from Trilogy, they sound like they have some really nice products! By how you have described the scent for this though I would be pretty put off, I really dislike those soapy scents!

It is a bit unfortunate, but everything else I’ve tried so far has smelled amazing 🙂

Ha ha Anne! I am similar to you and completely neglect my skin. I’m so bad about applying lotion yet my facial regime is something I’ve mastered. The Trilogy oil sounds delightful, I should check it out. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like a great product Anne, and the price is pretty impressive too!! Quite affordable!!! As for the smell, that would really put me off – I’m terrible when it comes to buying skin care… regardless of the promises, if it doesn’t smell yummy it ain’t coming home with me! lol However glad to find someone else who lacks in the skin care 😀 Like yourself, I’m great on facial skin care but the rest of me doesn’t get half as much pampering *tut tut* Fab review post as always chum XXXX

Yet another twin blogging thing: I am happy I am not the only one who is so bad at this 🙂
I have to be honest, I have gotten used to the smell – although i would love a nicer floral scent – and at least it isn’t overpowering or clashes with anything.

Oh believe me Anne, you aren’t huni 😀 My face gets all the treatment whilst everywhere else is left to fend for itself lol lol I know what you mean, it’s a smell you can abide as the product is so good but would’ve preferred it a little more prettier… I guess if it works that’s the main thing! I really need to get over my smell thing – probably missing out on so much because of it *rolls eyes* XXX

Exactly, it would have been so much nice if it had just smelled a little…better. But I will still use it and try to make ammends for all the months of skin neglect. xx

Hooray for luscious body oil! It’s too bad about the smell, because the description sounds like it would smell lovely…but what can you do. Have you tried the Caudalie dry oil? It definitely smells fantastic!

I’ve never heard of the brand Trilogy. This oil sounds lovely but too bad the notes of bergamot, rose, and vanilla translated into a dish washing liquid (how is that possible!?) I do love dry oil for colder weather – they absorb quickly and doesn’t greasy. I normally use the ones from Body Shop.

Trilogy is a completely natural brand from New Zealand. They make the most amazing rosehip oil: a cult product you really have to try 🙂
I have used the Body Shop body oils as well and I loved them, but I have to say trilogy absorbs a bit quicker.

A little right, especially since they mention vanillia 😦 But the product is still really great, so I will definitely finish the bottle.
