First Impressions: Clean Hair Care by Ren

Ren Oat and Bay Shampoo and Pro-Vitamin Conditioner

I am just such a fan of travel sized products. They don’t just look extremely cute, but they also allow you to test products before committing to the full size. A couple of months ago I bought the Grab and Go Kit by Ren Clean Skincare containing eight cute miniature products and today I want to start of by sharing my first impressions of the hair care products: the Oat and Bay Conditioning Shampoo and the Pro-Vitamin Conditioner.

A little note on Ren Clean Skincare first: this is a brand committed to creating clean products without any parabens, sulphates, mineral oils and other nasty stuff. Their products are not tested on animals. Sounds good right?! Let’s have a closer look at the shampoo and conditioner.

Oat and Bay Conditioning Shampoo

The Oat and Bay shampoo has a sweet but unobtrusive smell and is described as a gentle cleanse. There is no lather, which might surprise/annoy some of you but is something I have gotten used to over the years using only organic shampoos. I really wanted to like this, but it hasn’t been working for my hair. Either the cleanse is really to gentle or the conditioning element of the shampoo is too much, because my hair has been a little greasy and hasn’t felt properly clean. I am afraid to say this just isn’t my shampoo.

The travel size I have been testing contains 50 ml, but a full sized shampoo contains 300 ml and can only be purchased online for $28/£16/€22,50.

Ren Oat and Bay Shampoo and Pro-Vitamin Conditioner

Pro-Vitamin Conditioner

Unlike the shampoo, I have really enjoyed using the Pro-Vitamin Conditioner. This is described as a deeply replenishing formula aimed at leaving hair silky and shiny and I certainly have to agree. This really leaves your hair feeling soft and smooth. It is a little much for my fine hair to use during each wash, but works wonders used once a week. A little will go a long way, as this is so hydrating. The scent is again a little sweet but difficult to pin down.

Like the shampoo, the full sized bottle contains 300 ml and can again be purchased from the Ren website for $28/£18/€25.

Ren Oat and Bay Shampoo and Pro-Vitamin Conditioner A bit of a mixed result for Ren hair care: I have enjoyed the conditioner but dislike the conditioner. Have you tried either? Do let me know!

Ren Oat and Bay Shampoo and Pro-Vitamin Conditioner

Oat and Bay Conditioning Shampoo

Ren Oat and Bay Shampoo and Pro-Vitamin Conditioner

Pro-Vitamin Conditioner

Ren Oat and Bay Shampoo and Pro-Vitamin Conditioner

Laat het me weten.

I haven’t tried REN hair care yet, but I did try other products containing oats and they were also heavy for my hair. Glad you liked the conditioner though! xx

Totally agree with you! I got the Grab and Go set too and while I didn’t mind the conditioner I hated the shampoo! My hair didn’t feel clean after and was a little dry.

I didn’t know Ren did hair care too. Yeah I don’t like shampoos that don’t clean! My hair needs thorough cleaning or else it’s limp. 😛

It was a surprise to me too, but than I had to try them. I totally agree, I hate those organic shampoos that leave your hair feeling oily and unclean, especially since there are so many great options out there.

Yes! I definitely recommend the body scrub and the bath oil! But mostly the bath oil! It will make your entire house smell like an English garden in Spring! 👌🏼😌💕🌸🌸🌸

I have loved every bit of skincare I tried from them, so I was really prepared to love the shampoo but I just couldn’t get it to work.
