Shiitake: H&M High Impact Eye Colour

H&M High Impact Eye Colour Shiitake

Eyeshadow is a marvelous invention that come in countless shades, yet somehow I always end up firmly in my safe zone of neutral and brown shades. Although I have been experimenting a little recently, it should come as no surprise that the first H&M eyeshadow I picked up is a lovely bronze.

The High Impact Eye Colour is available in a lot of lovely colors, but I opted for Shiitake: a lovely bronzed brown shade with a lovely shimmer.

The packaging is rather nice: I love being able to see the color through the top so you don’t wast time looking for the eyeshadow you want. Although this is obviously plastic and feels light when picked up, it looks rather fancy on your dressing table.

The eyeshadow has a lovely consistency and doesn’t produce much fall out. It isn’t the most longlasting on its own though. I created a look using this shade and a Makeup Revolution palette without primer and at the end of the day the MUR shadow was still firmly in place but this was all but gone. Lesson: use a primer!

I have to admit I am a little on the fence about this one. At $6.99 / £4.99 / € 5,99 for a single eyeshadow, it isn’t actually the most economical buy. Palettes might be more expensive to purchase, but generally give you much more value. I do love the fact that there are some amazing on trend shades in this collection, so I would recommend just buying particular shades to update your look (like this amazing moss green color I will review in two weeks). As much as I love the color of Shiitake, it isn’t  very different from several others shade I own.

It looks like a gorgeous shade, pity about the lasting power! I haven’t tried anything from this range before!

I love bronze shades so much – I probably have more of them than anything else! Good to know it doesn’t that all day, though. I’m finally visiting H&M this weekend so I’ll be scoping out all the beauty stuff you’ve been telling me about! 😀 Do you have a #1 favorite item?

The blush! Definitely swatch some of the blushes 🙂
I tried the eyeshadow with primer the other day and it looked magnificent, so if you don’t mind using a primer (or maybelline color tattoo) underneath it will be fine. Hope you have a lovely weekend xx

So get this. I went to H&M today and they didn’t have ANY beauty stuff!! I wonder if it’s only available in Europe right now? I was so disappointed!

Oh no! How utterly rude! It is availble on the US website and the collection was extremely slow to arrive here as well. Maybe just select or larger stores?
So sorry you missed out on it 😦

It is really irritating. Happens to me with the clothes all the time: you see something great online or in the folder and can never find it in store.

I totally agree it is a bit of a weird name for an eyeshadow. But the color is lovely.

This eye shadow colour is literally can be used for any time of the year as it sticks onto the safe neutral zone and also, the price looks affordable too. Great post Anne!

I do exactly the same, so predictable. I have to say this autumn has inspired me to try out greens and plum shades and those are lovely (combined with brown of course 😉

Yes, I wear more plum based shadows when fall comes around too, but most of the time it is mainly neutrals, paired with a little something…
