November Empties

I told you I cheated a little this month, because the Essence mascara isn't actually empty. In fact, I have only used it once. I put it on and was about to bike into work when my eyes started burning and I had to wipe my entire eye makeup off. Definitely not recommended for anyone with sensitive eyes! I will give this one away to friends or family so as not to waste it. A bit of a mixed bag of empties here. The natural and high end products are performing well, but the cheaper stuff isn't really up to scratch this month.

I love reading a great empties post on other beauty blogs and writing them myself, as finishing a product really means you have a decent opinion on the product. I have cheated a little this month, as one of these products isn’t actually empty.

Balance Me Revitalising Hand and Body Wash

This is a great refreshing product that I have been using in the shower, though you could also use it as a hand wash. The zesty lemon scent helped me wake up on slow mornings and it produces a decent foam for a natural product. (Full Review)

Diorshow New Look Mascara

This is a great high end mascara in sophisticated black and silver packaging. Your lashes will be deep black and well seperated without any irritating lumps. It comes very close to my holy grail Max Factor False Lash, but it is a little more expensive. (Full Review)

Dr Jackson’s 03 Face Oil

This is a great hydrating and soothing face oil. It really helps sort out redness and keeps your skin in great condition. I also love the clean aesthetic of the packaging. Can’t wait to try some more of this brand! (Full Review)

Nivea Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover

The entire Nivea eye makeup remover range just doesn’t seem to be working for me and this was no exception. I ended up using this in the morning to wipe away any last traces of mascara and the lotion was fine for that, just not useful as a first cleanse. (Full Review)

Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream

I love this stuff. It is a great hydrating eye cream composed of natural ingredients. It keeps the skin around my eyes in excellent condition without any nasty sensitivity issues. The jar contains a whopping 30 ml (a lot for an eye cream) but my only slight con is the packaging. Dipping your fingers in the cream is a little unhygienic and you tend to scoop up a little more than you need. If this came in a tube, it would be unbeatable. (Full Review)

Balance Me Revitalising Hand and Body Wash

(Review)

Diorshow New Look Mascara

(Review)

Nivea Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover

(Review)

Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream

(Review)

Essence Lash Princess Mascara

The Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream looks really good! And wow, 30ml for eye cream, that’s unheard of! I want to try Antipodes one day!
Oh no, sorry to hear about the Essence mascara – the tube looks so pretty and girly though! But the contents are evil….

That eye cream is absolutely amazing! Took me absolutely forever to finish that one.
I have never had such a horrid reaction to mascara (and strangely I use and love Essence eyeliners) but I am not trying that one again.

I have never had such an immediate reaction to a product, even though I have sensitive eyes. Might be a one off, I do use Essence eyeliners without problems.

Huge thumbs down to the Essence mascara chum, that sounds rather tragic – will definitely be giving that one a miss!! Hope your lashes are now fully recovered!!! 😦 XXX

Isn’t is weird?! I didn’t actually realise you had over sensitive eyes either! Fingers crossed it was just a bad lash day 🙂 XXXX

Let’s hope it’s just a weird product. I have some eye sensitivities but never anything like this!

Hope so, must admit I had something similiar happen a few years ago with a coloured liquid liner I had. It was in a gift set, needless to say it got binned right away as my eyes went teary and my lashes were sooo itchy for a few days after. Not a nice experience at all 😦 This is why I would be so against ordering these replicas on the likes of Ali Express. Dear only knows what’s in them!! XXX

It just feels awful and it freaks you out as well. The eyes are important.
I never order products of ebay or chinese sites…it don’t want that stuff anywhere near my face. xx

Nor me either Anne, I’ve read sooo many articles on how damaging they’ve been for people who have taken the chance – literally a cocktail of chemicals!! Always amazed at the amount of people who are willing to take the chance. Would much rather save up and buy the real thing!! X

Definitely! It is not worth the potential horrific side effects. xx

Empties are my favorite posts to read about and watch on YouTube. It’s like a sense of accomplishment when you finish the product and your money is well spent. Thanks for the post! Look forward to reading more 🙂

Shame about the mascara, I’ve heard amazing things about it – good job it’s from an affordable brand 🙂 I’ve never really got on with anything from Nivea – other than the in shower moisturiser!

The mascara was the strangest thing, super heavy reaction even though I use other eye products by the brand with no problems at all…
