Rosy Cheeks: Lush Fresh Face Mask

Lush Rosy Cheeks Face Mask

Lush was my first proper introduction to green beauty, so they will always have a special place in my heart. This is a brand that doesn’t just use natural as a marketing gimmick, but really lives and breathes the idea of sustainable products. This is why they have a great recycling system: return five clean empty black jars and receive a free fresh face mask. Excellent idea! It has allowed me to try many of their masks and my most recent pick was Rosy Cheeks.

Rosy cheeks is obviously all about rose. The lovely pink shade is created by a mix of rose oil, kaolin clay, and calamine. The mask smells sweet and is aimed at calming and soothing your skin. If you don’t have five jars to hand in, this mask would cost you £6.75 / $12.95 / €11,65.

I love the smooth texture of this mask. Some of the chunkier fresh face masks are really difficult to apply as some don’t seem to stick to your skin very well, but this applies smoothly and dries evenly. It leaves my skin feeling soft and calm, just what I had hoped for.

One small downside to these fresh masks is the limited shelf life. They have to be kept in the fridge and only last for about three weeks. Of course, all ingredients are fresh and that is worth a lot.  The jar contains quite a lot of mask for such a short period, I could probably get four to five application out of this. That is why I tend to share it with my mom or friends so it doesn’t go to waste. My one big tip to Lush would be to make these smaller, so it is easier to finish them in the limited time available.

This is just a small inconvenience given how great these masks are. Rosy Cheeks is my new favorite, but I also really want to try the new coffee version. Do you have any favorites? Do share!

Delen!

This sounds lovely, really wish we had Lush here. I agree re shelf life, smaller packaging would be good. Great products though, the coffee one sounds interesting

You don’t have a lush? That is disappointing, it is such a fun place to shop.

I’m not sure why but your posts aren’t showing up in my WP reader – poop! 😦
I’ve been curious about Lush face masks – I love the idea of them being freshly made. And the recycling program is a fantastic idea. But… I do wonder if I would be able to use up a tub of face mask in 3 weeks?

Oh no! Wonder why that is 😦
I love these, but the tubs are just too big. I always give away half and even than I struggle with finishing them on time. They really should make them smaller.

Yay Lush! This mask looks lovely – I almost bought it the last time I was there, but because of the short shelf life, I opted for the coffee one instead (which is awesome, btw). I would love it if they made smaller sizes!

Yes you get quite a lot of use out of the little tub. Just too bad it goes off so quickly.

The Lush Mask of Magnaminty is a self preserving one, so it doesn’t need to be in the fridge and lasts a year. It’s definitely my favourite one, so refreshing!

Once again, you made it clearly evident that you are totally obsessed with rose aromas. The texture, colour and the results are absolutely smashing from this product and moreover, it is freshly handmade cosmetics that is always an extra bonus to splash it onto the skin. Also, have you tried their cup cake face mask ever before? That is also a great option to try for.
