Naked Skin Concealer by Urban Decay

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

Urban Decay is finally here! The Netherlands is occasionally seriously behind when it comes to counters by major brands, but a lot of lovely brands have now discovered us: Benefit and Urban Decay are opening counters across the country, Kiko has arrived and there are even rumours of a Charlotte Tilbury counter opening here in the spring. Be still, my beating heart!

The arrival of an Urban Decay counter near me meant I could finally try the Naked Skin Concealer. I had heard a lot about this one and I really wanted to compare it to my holy grail: the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

Let’s have a look at the Urban Decay offering first. The full (and long) name tells us what we need to know: Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. In other words, a light weight invisible corrector that doesn’t settle into fine lines. Sounds like perfection, which doesn’t come cheap as this little tube costs $28 / £17.50 / €23.70.

Urban Decay offers eight different shades and I opted for Light Neutral. Colorwise this is a great match for me, a lovely neutral beige. Naked Skin feels very light and doesn’t migrate into the fine lines around my eyes as promised.

It provides a natural look, but I have to say the coverage is not quite as good as my trusted Nars. I would describe this as medium: perfectly fine for most days, but not quite enough to hide a bad nights sleep and proper dark circles.

Don’t think of the UD Naked Skin concealer as a dupe for Nars, but more as a related product. Both concealers are great quality, but I reach for them on different occasions.

The natural effect of Naked Skin works very well on it’s own on good skin days or combined with a tinted moisturiser or foundation with light coverage.

The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, on the other hand, is what you reach for to create a flawless finish in combination with a medium or high coverage foundation or after a particularly awful night (or nice party). It’s heavier and can crease a little, but that is the price you pay for perfect coverage.

I really like the natural look the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer provides and it is a great addition to any collection. It is just so much better than some of the drug store concealers I have tried recently. For me, the quality difference makes it worth spending money on concealer and other base products while saving elsewhere if you have to. Have you tried the Naked Skin or the Radiant Creamy Concealer? Do let me know!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

Urban Decay is eindelijk hier!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

Laat het me weten!

I didn’t tried any of these but my personal taste would be a lighter formula so I guess it would be The Naked Skin Concealer. My favorite is from MUFE ! Yay! for having UD now 🙂

Both concealers are amazing and I couldn’t live without either one! Like you said, I use the NARS one for more full coverage, especially on nights when I didn’t get enough sleep, but it’s also great for covering any blemishes! My UD concealer is a tad darker so I only use it for my undereyes (which sounds weird, I know, but I have freckles so it’s a struggle haha).

So exciting that you finally have Urban Decay and Benefit!! Yay! And this comparison is very handy for me since we use the exact same Nars concealer…if I ever want to try one with lighter coverage, I know which shade of UD to grab 🙂

The UD is a little darker, which I would say matches my skin even better 🙂 Def. a great second option 🙂

Congrats on finally getting Urban Decay in the Netherlands! 😀
The Naked concealer is as I suspected – too lightweight coverage for my preferences.
You mention that the Nars creases a little – do you set your concealer with any powder?

I’ve always wanted to try that concealer! I completely adore the Nars one but mine is nearly done 😦 I will need to try this though! Must be so exciting to get new counters available, you are so lucky if you get a Charlotte Tilbury one, that is like dreams right there haha!

Nars is still the best one I have tried so far 🙂
Oh yes, a Charlotte Tilbury counter would be heaven (and a very bad idea for my bank account)
