My Spring Favourites: Foundation

Favourite Spring Foundations with Nars Loreal Bourjois and Etos

I saved my favourite foundations for spring till the very last, simply because choosing only four from my insane hoard of base products was rather difficult. I love trying new foundations, though finding the right colour match and finish can still be a nightmare. I have eventually selected these four perfect spring foundations.

Starting with the lightest base of the four: the Etos Skin Hydrating Foundation in Vanilla. I have raved about the amazing color match before, which is the best I’ve ever seen. The finish is very dewy, however, and the finish relatively light. Great for a natural look.

My second pick is Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in No 52 Vanilla (starting to see a theme here). I love the natural glow and medium finish of this base, but the color is a little dark for me coming out of the darker winter months. It will look perfect after a bit of sun though, so I can’t wait to wear it this summer.

The Loreal True Match foundation is a blogger classic I recently discovered. I picked it up in 2R/2C Rose Vanilla (how utterly unsurprising) but I would love to try the neutral 2N next time. I love the natural effect and great coverage of this foundation. You can tell because it has been in use since I purchased it, no mean feat given my collection of foundations.

The final foundation is my preferred base for special occasions. The Nars Sheer Glow has a rather confusing name, as there is nothing sheer about this base. This creates an amazing even base and there is so many different colours to choose from. I love this most when I mix in a drop of face oil before applying.

This look at my most-loved foundation wraps up my spring favorites. I hope you have enjoyed this little look at my current favorites.

That Etos foundation sounds like my kind of foundation! I haven’t seen it around here though. I will have to keep an eye out for the brand. I have been tempted to try the Healthy Mix but I have been nervous since my skin tends to break-out with drugstore foundations. It’s ridiculously sensitive. Many people seem to like it though so I might just have to take the plunge anyway. πŸ™‚ xx

I am afraid you won’t be able to get Etos over there. It is a Dutch chain of pharmacies that hasn’t expended abroad :(.
Sensitive skin can be so tricky when it comes to foundations. Healthy mix might be a good option, or the renewed formula of loreals true match. Both are nice, but sensitivities are so hard to predict.

Ah, no! Oh well, it’s an excuse to travel to The Netherlands sometime. We could call it a research trip. πŸ˜‚
It is difficult to predict. I tend to stick to high-end foundations because of it but sometimes it is nice to try something new that won’t break the bank. I will have to keep a look out for the true match as well. πŸ˜ƒ xx

I’ve never heard of Etos before! I really like Sheer Glow & I have a sample of that Bourjois foundation so I must try it soon! Great post! xx

They used to sell Bourjois at Sephora here in the states, but they haven’t for a long time 😦 I should try True Match though, I’ve heard good things!

Out of the 4 you featured, I’ve only tried 2: L’Oreal and Bourjois. Both were good lightweight formulas. I haven’t tried the Nars Sheer Glow but I have heard the name is such a mismatch for its actual coverage. Silly Nars.

I feel I’ve mentioned this on your blog before, but I really wish the North American L’Oreal True Match foundation came in a pump bottle like yours! I really want to try the Nars and Bourjois foundations sometime.

re: pump. YES. And I refuse to buy the North American one until they change the packaging.

Awesome post – as usual! πŸ™‚

The True Match foundation sounds great! I’d like to try it but I’m not sure if it’s right for my skin type. Do you think this foundation would work with very dry skin?
