Nails of the Week: Velvet Mint Green

Time to show you another nice option for spring: 694 Velvet Satin Nail Lacquer by Kiko Milano. Sounds a little boring! Though I have found some people referring to it as Honeydew Melon on the wide web, the only info on my bottle is 694. Bit of a shame, as a beauty blogger and make-up addict it is always so much easier to remember a catchy name than to memorize a silly number.

Naming issues aside, this polish is actually lovely. I picked it up on sale for a mere €1.40 (about £1.10 / $1.60), so it was a bargain though I assume this means it has been dropped from the permanent collection. Too bad, because this is the perfect spring shade with a bit of a twist.

The semi-matte finish is a little different and works very well for pastel shades in particular. That little edge sets this green apart from all the others shades of mint in stores right now. This does chip easy, something I find most matte or semi matte shades tend to do. Worth it for me for the unique effect.

That is the issue for polish addicts like us: occasionally you’ll find a lovely color hiding in the back of the collection 😉

Oh no, that is so irritating. At least I can wear any color to work.

Hopefully I’ll find a new job soon where I can actually wear whatever nail polish I want! xx

Lovely mint – that slightly matte finish looks great with it, too! Mmmm honeydew.

What a pretty shade! You’re right, honeydew would be a much catchier name 🙂

Hmm not so sure about honeydew melon as the shade name either… i think this looks more like a “wintermint” 😛

One of my friends loves all things mint (she even has a mint Fiat 500) so I might have to buy her this!
