Happy Kingsday!

Happy Kingsday (2).JPG

Happy Kingsday to all of you! Today the Dutch celebrate the King’s birthday with street markets, carnivals, festivals and everything orange.

No kidding: it will be a blaze of orange wherever you look from clothes and decorations to traditional foods. Everything usually takes place out on the street with larger cities turning into one big street festival, but with a horrible weather forecast it seems this year we will have to adapt just a little.

I personally rather dislike orange clothing, so I have decided on a rather classy homage to the king this year in the form of Chanel. I’ll be wearing Arthur: an amazing bright red with a clear hint of orange. Enjoy your day!

Fijne Koningsdag!

Thanks hun! I didn’t really do much this year, given the horrid weather, but it is a lovely holiday. Always fun to show international friends the hidden crazy side of the dutch. xo Anne

If you are ever around I will happily give you a tour. It always fascinates my international friends: the dutch really go a little OOC crazy on days like this.

Happy Kingsday! I love orange, personally, but Chanel Arthur is a nice compromise! Tulips are my fave flower – I have always wanted to visit the Netherlands to see them 🙂

Thanks! The tulips are looking lovely this year. I am from the tulip region, so I have grown up around them and never quite understand all the fuss.

That’s always the case, isn’t it? I really never know what to tell people who want to come sightsee in Toronto. 😀

These tulips reminds me of Keukenhoff. What an amazing floral exhibition! Love this orangey, fiery red. So classy, classic and branded too. Chanel rocks! Happy Thursday Anne.
