Born with It: Freedom’s amazing budget lippy

Freedom Makeup Pro Lipstick Born With It Pro Red 110A couple of weeks ago, I started testing my first Freedom Makeup products after finding a couple of lovely items in my giveaway prize from Rachael at Helpless Whilst Drying. I love the budget make-up from sister brand Makeup Revolution, but hadn’t had a chance to see if Freedom was just as good. Spoiler: they are!

I adore their Diffused Pro Highlight and I have fallen for their Pro Lipsticks just as hard. These lipsticks are unbelievably cheap at a mere pound each (about $1.44 / € 1.27), but somehow still amazing quality. The packaging is quite sturdy, the lid closes well, and I love the fact that the bottom shows the colour of the lipstick. Makes it so easy to pick up the right shade.

This shade is called Born with It (110) and is from the Pro Red collection. I’ll be very honest: I think it should have been in the Pro Pink collection. It looks like a cross between red and pink in the bullet, but on my lips and in real life it looks more pink to me. No matter what you call this colour, it is amazing! A great everyday lipstick shade.

The formula is very creamy: it glides on very well and feels hydrating on the lips. Like all creamy lipsticks, it won’t last very long and needs to be reapplied frequently. For me, the lovely shade and finish of Born with it are worth that hassle.

Freedom Makeup Pro Lipstick Born With It Pro Red 110This is the second amazing product I have tried from Freedom Makeup and it has made me very curious about the rest of the range. The quality has been fabulous, but the prices are very friendly. Might be a haul coming up: any other products from their range you can recommend?

This colour is absolutely gorgeous Anne! I will admit I am shocked by how different this looks on the lips compared to the colour of the bullet itself, I was expecting a vibrant fuschia/red 😛

I bought one of their five lipstick boxes, the space age Star Wars dupe collection, and I was quite disappointed by how patchy the colours were, and how difficult it was to get some of them to stay put! Perhaps that was just because they’re metallic shades.

It makes you wonder why makeup has to be so expensive when a budget brand comes out with such good quality products!
I agree, this is definitely a pink, not a red! A lovely summery shade though! I love creamy balmy lip products – I don’t mind reapplying at all.
We don’t have access to Freedom here and my only exposure has been through UK bloggers including Rachael! 😛
