Clarins Instant Concealer

Clarins Instant Concealer 01 Light

Concealer has to be one of the most tricky make-up products out there: combining great coverage with a light formula that doesn’t creep into fine lines is certainly a challenge. Thanks to the amazing ladies of Pixiwoo (their Youtube channel is just the best), I found my latest favorite: the Clarins’ Instant Concealer.

Let’s start with the packaging: Clarins gets full marks for style and convenience. The chique red box contains a lovely little tube with a golden cap. The nozzle is very fine and allows you great control on the amount of product you dispense. A light squeeze will get you a tiny drop of concealer, just the right amount for concealing those dark circles. I was a little hesitant about a squeezy tube at first, but I now prefer it over the more normal tube and applicator packaging seen in most budget and high end brands.

The concealer itself is equally lovely. This light weight formula provides a medium coverage and lovely bright look. This really lightens up the eye area and hydrating formula means it doesn’t settle into fine lines or creases. It also has nice staying power and will last for about six to seven hours. I have relatively sensitive eyes and have occasionally struggled with problems caused by under eye concealers, but this Clarins version doesn’t cause any irritation.

Clarins is not a budget brand and the Instant Concealer retails for €26,95 / £22 / $31. However, the tube does contain 15 ml of concealer. That is a lot! To compare, Nars’ Radiant Creamy Concealer contains 6 ml and Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Concealer 5 ml at very similar retail prices. So, great value for money and an amazing concealer that I absolutely love – luckily, as it will take forever to get through this tube.

Another addition to my wishlist! I despise concealers that form lines around the eye area and to the sides of my mouth! Thanks! 💋

I had this and gave it away. It’s far too emollient for me – it just slips and slides around. And the coverage is too low for my needs. I do LOVE the fact that this is in a squeeze tube – very hygienic! And I agree, amazing value when you look at the volume. I was quite sad this didn’t work for me. I’m glad you love it though!

Interesting! I guess the slippy nature is perfect for me, as my skin is quite dry and I have a lot of lines around my eyes. This doesn’t settle in them nearly as much as some other concealers do.

I really like this concealer! It is great for under the eyes since it is so lightweight! It is also really great on its own for no foundation days and I usually avoid doing that as I find concealer on its own can appear cakey but the Clarins doesn’t!

Absolutely! I am lovin’ it and you are right: it works so well in its own on light make-up days.

It is so tricky! It is usually either coverage or no creasing 😦 This is my favorite so far 🙂 xx
