Affordable organic skincare has gotten so much better these last few years and I love discovering new brands and products. I have been trialling different bits and bobs by Organic Surge these last few months and today I’ll talk about the final skincare product I tested: thee Organic Surge Extra Care Hydrating Eye Cream.
One of the great features of this particular eye cream is the packaging. It comes in a small glass bottle with a little pump that dispenses the right amount of product for both eyes. Much more hygienic than dipping your fingers into a glass jar and it looks lovely in your skincare line-up.
Organic Surge describe this as a lightweight cream enriched with shea and coco butter as well as jojoba oil and other organic ingredients to give great hydration. The cream certainly is easy to distribute and sinks in relatively quickly, leaving a smooth base which works well for make-up. I find it isn’t the most moisturising eye cream I have tried, but I think this would work well for ladies with normal to oily skin in their twenties and early thirties.
There is little to no fragrance detectable, which is good news for anyone with a sensitive skin. There is a peculiar little warning on the box, directing you to ‘lightly pat around the eye area, taking care to avoid direct contact with the eye’. That is a little peculiar for an eye cream in my opinion. No one intentionally slathers eye creams into their eyes, but surely any product aimed at this area should always be safe in case of accidental contact with eyes.
This organic eye cream retails for £18.50 (about $24 or €21) for a glass bottle containing 20 ml of product, quite a bit for an eye cream. Organic Surge or Look Fantastic often have great offers, though, so keep an eye out for those and you might pick this up a little cheaper. Overall, a pretty decent performance for an affordable organic eye cream.
