Lovely Lilacs: Pacifica French Lilac Solid Perfume

Pacifica French Lilac Solid Perfume

Scent is memory and lilacs instantly transport me back to childhood walks with my family through woods filled with purple blossoms. Finding a clean natural lilac perfume isn’t easy, but I thing I have finally found mine in Pacifica’s French Lilac.

Natural beauty brand Pacifica has an entire range of French Lilac products, but I decided to try their solid perfume first. This fragranced blend of coconut and soy wax is suitable for vegans, cruelty free, and completely natural. The cute little tin contains 10 grams of perfume and retails for $9 (Β£10 or €11.50).

I would describe this as a very clean lilac as I can’t pick up any other tones. It smells very natural to me and comes so very close to my scent memory of a lilac bush in full bloom. I love this, though I can totally imagine that some would feel this scent is a little old fashioned.

The solid perfume lasts quite well on me: a decent four to five hours before it fades. I simply pop the little tin in my purse and reapply half way through the day. You only need a tiny bit of product, so I am very curious to see how long this tin will last.

This lovely floral fragrance has made me really curious about the rest of the Pacifica range. I would love to smell some of the other fragrances, so I’ll be on the lookout for local suppliers. Any recommendations?

I don’t think I’ve ever tried a solid perfume but I adore the scent of Lilac (it reminds me of my Granda’s garden) so I think I would love this! xx

I hadn’t either, but I have to say I can see it being very convenient while travelling. Lilacs just smell so lovely and bring back great memories for many people πŸ˜€

I love Pacifica too! I would generally recommend the Tuscan Blood Orange and Island Vanilla product lines. These two fragrances are incredibly natural and lovely. I keep buying them again and again. I also have a few lip balms which I really like.

If you like exotic flowers, maybe you could try the Tahitian Gardenia fragrance? πŸ™‚

There are a few products I didn’t like:
The Coconut-scented products are not great. The shower gel smells nothing like the body butter which doesn’t smell like perfume at all. And the Mango Grapefruit fragrance was disappointing. It’s too sweet and it’s 95% (synthetic) mango.

In general I think the spray perfumes are the best choice because some of the (darker) roll-on perfumes will leave stains on your skin (you could call them roll-on marks!) and whilst the solid perfumes are really cute, repeated dipping into a pot or tub isn’t very hygienic in the long run.

If you’re considering buying Pacifica’s body butters, you should know they’re actually regular body lotions. They’re decent lotions, no argument here. But they’re simply not butters.

Maybe you could look for a gift set to treat yourself and to explore several products at the same time. If you decide to buy more products from Pacifica, please do a post about what you bought. πŸ™‚
