No7 Airbrush Away Foundation

Time for another tale from the quest for the perfect budget foundation. I love testing new base products to see if I can top my current favorites: Loreal True Match and Bourjois Healthy Mix. I have some great experiences with the Boots no7 range, so I picked up their latest offering: the No7 Airbrush Away Foundation in Calico.

Airbrush Away is a very runny liquid foundation that comes in a beautiful glass bottle with a dropper. Shake well before use and distribute a few drops across your face with fingers or a brush for buildable medium coverage. According to No7, the velvety formula will glide onto the skin blurring fine lines and giving a radiant finish.

I have to say this is a lovely foundation that I am sure will work well for some, but just isn’t my cup of tea. The liquid does feel like velvet and is easy to smooth over the skin, but I find it isn’t hydrating enough for my dry skin and settles into fine lines. It looks decent enough when freshly applied, but quickly makes my skin look dry and doesn’t provide the promised radiance. This might be great for ladies with combination or oily skin, but it doesn’t doing it for my dry skin.

I also made a slight miscalculation in picking my shade. I ordered online and have used No7 foundations in Calico before, so I simply went with what I knew. This is definitely too light for me in summer (which I should have realised) and has a slight greyish tinge to it that makes me look a little ill. I might try it again in winter to see if it matches my pale skin, but I doubt the formula will work better when my skin gets that little drier in the colder weather.

Have you tried this or any of the other foundations by no7? Do let me know! Also, I would love to hear if any of you know what shade I should go for if I want to go a step darker than Calico with a more yellow base.

I havent tried any NO.7 products before… This sounds ideal if I had dry skin 😦 but I have an oily t-zone! thanks for the great review Anne… you’ve inspired me to check out some more NO.7 products!

Really?! But you have a boots right there (slightly jealous). It might work for you as it was a little drying on me, but I have heard their matte foundation is also amazing.

Oh that’s disappointing that this doesn’t work for you! I hate investing in foundations and not having them work – it happens to me often b/c my skin is so finicky. ☹️

This looks a lot like those high end serum foundations. Too bad it wasn’t suited for your skin type, and the colour matching wasn’t good for right now. Maybe try mixing it with a more emollient foundation and darker shade to help it along? I too, love trying budget foundations… I always have hope there’s something great at the drugstore!

I’ve only tried one no7 foundation which I quite liked although it gave me a bit of a breakout after a while so I stopped using it! Great review 🙂 xxx
