When it comes to brows, I am quite lucky. I have natural deep and full brows and have never over-plucked them, so I was one happy camper when the fashion went my way and everybody started wearing clearly defined brows. Thank you Cara Delevigne! I don’t actually touch my brows on a daily basis, but they do look a little smarter for special occasions if filled in with a pencil and kept in place by some gel. So, I was curious to try something from Benefit’s new brow range: the Goof Proof Brow Pencil.
This is supposed to be an easy and foolproof brow pencil suitable for novice brow girls like myself. First things first: I personally hate the packaging. The multifaceted lid is just too big for the tiny pencil and a little too blingy for my tastes. This is probably one of those love or hate type things.
The unique shape of the pencil means you can use the tip for precision or fill in larger areas with the larger flat surface. Perfect: as it works just as well to fill larger gaps quickly if you are in a hurry or define your brows carefully if you have a little more time.
The formula is great as well, as it doesn’t seem to budge easy and stays in place all day. I haven’t tested it yet in an actual down poor, so I can’t really comment on the waterproof nature of the pencil, but the longevity is impressive.
I received color 2 and was a little skeptical at first as my brows are relatively dark, but it was a surprisingly great match. This brown has great ashy undertones and no hint of unnatural redness, so it is very flattering.
The only thing missing on this luxury sample is the spooly, but that is present on the full size (and I am definitely missing that). Overall, nice longevity and color, just wish the packaging was a little less…blingy.
