If a brand claims a particular product does just about everything at once, I am usually rather sceptical. You know the type I mean: the serum that miraculously deals with twelve different issues at once. Usually, these products just leave me disappointed, even if they are actually quite nice, because they simply don’t live up to the bold claims on the packaging. So, I approached the In Transit Camera Close-Up by Thisworks with caution as this claims to be a mask, moisturiser, and primer in one.
Luckily, this product turned out to be a winner for me. The key is in the name here: In Transit, as this tube is just perfect for travelling. Camera Close-Up is a light weight cream that absorbs into the skin quickly, but don’t let that fool you. It contains Hyaluronic Acid, Argan and Starflower oil, and Caffeine to plump your skin and erase signs of fatigue. It also has a broad spectrum SPF30 sunscreen, always a bonus.
It moisturises well, so you could definitely use this as a day cream. I also think this would be perfect for a long haul flight, notoriously difficult on the skin. The best part of this product is that it leaves such a great canvas for make-up, making it a great primer as well. It aids the longevity of your make-up a little, but most of all just makes it go on smoothly and look flawless. That combination makes this an amazing product on the go or in the heat of summer when you want to keep the number of layers you pop on your face to an absolute minimum.
I hadn’t tried anything by thisworks before, so I was happily surprised to see it is a natural and socially responsible brand. No chemicals, fair trade ingredients, packaging made from recycled materials, and obviously no animal testing. Awesome.
I found this luxurious sample containing 20ml in July’s Look Fantastic Beauty Box, but a full size of In Transit Camera Close-Up contains 40 ml and retails for €39.50 / £30 / $55 on their website. Not a bad price for such a convenient product. I am definitely taking this on my next short city trip in September.
