End of the month again, so time to have a look at the products I finished this month. It is a bit of a special edition, as each of these products is a tester. I had so many of these lying around and decided to work my way through them and collect them all in a single post. Obviously, you can’t really test a skincare product properly from a small sample, so I will just be giving you my first impressions on these.
Let’s start with the two products with larger content that I have reviewed already on the blog. The Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask is one of the best face masks I have ever tried. It is a great deep cleanse that leaves your skin looking amazing. Definitely recommend this one, but be warned this luxurious mud comes with a corresponding price tag. The Ren V-Cense Youth Vitality Day Cream is a light weight yet properly hydrating day cream with a rather heady frankincense scent.
This little tube of Dior Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Creme is just too cute. The moisturiser has a lovely scent and sinks in quickly. The fragrance might make it a bad idea for ladies with sensitive skin. The Lancome Energie de Vie The Smoothing & Glow Boosting Liquid Care has a rather long name and confused me a little. This clear thin liquid seems to be a cross between a serum and moisturiser. I had a slight reaction in the form of redness the first night I used it, but this disappeared and it does seem to add a little extra to the skin.
These three perfumes were all quite nice, but none of them stood out. Miu Miu Eau de Parfum was lovely and longlasting. Gucci Premiere Eau de Toilette was a nice surprise: I loved the scent but as a Eau de Toilette the longevity wasn’t quite what I had hoped for.The Estee Lauder Modern Muse Eau de Rouge (Eau de Toilette) lasts a little longer on the skin, but I prefer the original Modern Muse scent.
I also managed to get through several sachets that have been lying around for a long time. I tried two Lavera samples: the Mattifying Balancing Cream and Q10 Moisturizing Cream. The first has a lovely creamy texture and a rather distinct ginger scent. The Q10 version sinks in well, but wasn’t as hydrating as I had hoped.
Two more moisturisers to go. I really liked the texture of the Ici Paris XL Aqua Hydrating Cream Gel: it is a creamy thick gel. The only downside is that it takes a little while to sink in properly. The second gel is the Biotherm Aquasource which is very light and refreshing. Lovely in hot summer weather. The last sachet is a tester of No7 Protect&Perfect Advanced Serum. The texture is a lovely middle ground between a cream and gel and it has really made me interesting in trying some more of the N07 skincare range.
This has cleaned out my sample drawer quite nicely and it has been loads of fun to test a bunch of new samples. I think I will start doing this every couple of months. Have you tried any of these? Do let me know.
