Balm Balm Little Miracle Rosehip Serum

Balm Balm Little Miracle rosehip serum

I adore organic beauty products and recently I have been testing out several new brands to find skincare that is both green and affordable. While browsing for a new face oil, I came across the Little Miracle Rosehip Serum by Balm Balm. I was rather curious about the brand as I have never tried anything by Balm Balm before and at a mere £14.50 (about $18 / €16) a bottle it certainly met the affordability criterium. So, is this a little miracle?

A classic with a twist: Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant +

Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant +

The last few months have been crazy busy and my skin has suffered. This isn’t because I skimp on my skincare routine – I actually love taking a little me time at night – but because I have been eating horribly. Lots of ready meals, alcohol, and sugary treats doesn’t just translate as bad news for my waist line, but also shows in blotchy and impure skin. I am slowly working back to eating healthy again, but to remedy my immediate skincare issues I have relied on two amazing products. You’ll have to wait for the second one till next week, but the first is Trilogy’s Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+.

Number Three: Dr Jackson’s Face Oil

Dr Jacksons Nr 03 Face Oil

Time for my second foray into the exciting world of Dr Jackson’s skincare: the 03 Face oil. In case you missed my first review, you can read what I thought of the 05 Face and Eye Essence here. I won these lovely Dr. Jackson’s products in a twitter giveaway hosted by the lovely Liberty London team. I asked them which new skincare brands we should keep an eye on and having tried these products thoroughly in the last few months I can only agree with their suggestion of Dr. Jackson’s.

Body Shop Oils of Life: Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil

Facial oils are a staple in my skincare routine. I use them every single night: as my night care in the warmer summer months and layered underneath a cream in autumn and winter. There is just something so luxurious about a decent oil, so you can imagine I jumped at the opportunity to try the new Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil from the Body Shop.

This facial oil is part of the new Oils of Life range and is launched in the Netherlands on September 15th (but I think it is already available in the UK). It comes in a luxurious ombre glass bottle containing 30 ml and will cost €35/£28.

Three seed oils form the base of this product: Black Cumin, Rosehip, and Camellia oil. It has a lovely floral smell with a spicy undertone, so this isn’t overly sweet. Simply use two to three drops and massage into your skin gently. The oil will absorb quickly and is clear, so no need to worry about stains.

The Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil leaves your face feeling soft, no surprises there as it contains my favorite skincare ingredient rosehip oil. The product is 99% natural and it would have been very nice to see the Body Shop going fully green (that last percentage point is a little disappointing). Especially since the product isn’t very cheap and you could easily buy a fully organic rosehip oil for the same price. Still, a great product in lovely packaging that has me wondering about the rest of the Oils of Life collection.

Divine Face Oil by Antipodes

After several bottles of the amazing Trilogy Rosehip oil, I decided to branch out a bit and try something new. I finally settled on several products from New Zealand brand Antipodes, including the Divine Face Oil. How does it compare to my tried and tested Trilogy favorite?

The Divine Face Oil combines Avocado and Rosehip oil with sweet orange rind and jasmine petal. The antioxidants and nutrients in the avocado and rosehip oil help reduce fine lines and sun spots and the avocado oil even has a very mild natural sun protection. It comes in a 30 ml glass vial with pipette that retails for approximately £18.99/€25.

This product has a lovely smell: floral with a hint of earthiness. Massaging this rich yellow oil onto your face at night is a real treat. It did take me a little while to get used to the smell – Trilogy also smells lovely but the fragrance is much less apparent – but this has really become a staple in my night time routine.Organic Divine Face Oil by Antipodes with rosehip and avocado

A couple of weeks ago, I developed a weird little rash on my face after testing some products. I decided to go back to basics and used solely organic products – mainly Antipodes and Pai – on my face for several weeks. The rash subsided and my skin has never looked better!

A couple of drops of this oil underneath your night cream really makes a lot of difference for anyone suffering from dry or dehydrated skin. Take a bit of time to properly massage this into your skin and you will see even more benefits. As you only need very little. this bottle will last quite a while.

So, how does it compare to the Trilogy rosehip oil? I would say they are very similar products with similar results, but the main difference is the smell. This has a lovely but very present fragrance, some people will prefer this while others will love Trilogy just a little more because it is less present. Take your pick, you cannot go wrong with either facial oil.
